ABOUT US

Heart of PERFORMING HEARTS

Performing Hearts, Inc. is not merely a performing arts organization. The arts is the vehicle we employ but the HEART of why we exist is to raise the next generation with purpose, identity, and a sense of connectedness to their community. We are equipping and empowering the youth of Ocala to step up and into their God-given purpose by drawing them out of themselves and into their community. We develop honorable character, and positive social skills in young people, and guide them in initiating and building stronger connections with those around them. Further, we offer programs that allow youth to hone their craft, create meaningful connections, gain experience, and make a difference in their community.Through performing arts, we have a unique opportunity to capture their attention, engage their interests, and minister to their hearts while equipping them with the tools and the network necessary to combat conflicting and damaging messages strategically dispatched to destroy their destinies!

OPERATION UNIFICATION

OUR MISSION

So many young people today are struggling severely with identity issues and toxic temptations due in large part to social media, but also a disconnect to those around them, especially their elders. We believe this ever-widening gap between youth and elders is contributing to the breakdown of our communities across the Nation.Did you know that “Marion County’s rate of hospitalizations for self-harm injuries among teenagers far outpaces that of the state?” According to an article from Marion County’s Department of Health in 2022, “Marion County reported 85.5 such hospitalizations per 100,000 residents for youth between 12 and 18 from 2018 through 2020 which was 27% higher than the 67.4 recorded statewide over the same period. During that time, Marion County reported 12 suicides among youth 12 to 18 - more than double the state’s rate.”We are on a mission to impact Marion County in a way that brings about real change that our youth can carry with them as they transition through difficult seasons in their lives.Through mentorship from our growing network of mentors, our young people can feel more connected to those around them and gain identity, confidence, and take pride in the decisions they make moving forward.

Founder and President, Stanley "Tyrell" Scott, has been working with young people (even as a young person himself) for nearly 20 years. Throughout that time, he has used the arts- acting, singing, and dancing to inspirtain' (inspire and entertain) audiences.Throughout his life, he chose to neither drink nor smoke but has always been the life of the party. Since youth, he purposed in his heart to live a disciplined life, abstaining from vices being the oldest of 5 children. From childhood, he understood that if he made certain decisions or mistakes, his siblings and those who look up to him, would be more likely to do the same.At 29, Tyrell married his now-wife, Brittany Scott after dating for 10 years. Tyrell purposed to remain a virgin until marriage and succeeded. Together, they have 3 beautiful daughters, Mercy, Tynira, Lena, and a new baby boy, Takeo.Since moving to Ocala in 2021, Tyrell has been in the trenches with the youth of this community in various degrees. He has performed at different schools through FCA, volunteers with a group of kids from Helping Hands, and worked at Christian Homeschool Edu. Center as the Senior Pastoral Director. He also volunteers with Dads on Duty, and ministers at different youth groups and churches in Ocala through motivational speaking, coaching, and inspirtainment'.
